While working out more ways of making the S-360-24 supply more reliable and efficient, I realized the provided NTC thermistor is not fit for the purpose. Thanks to the people over at EEVBlog (forum thread) I’ve decided there’s enough space for a simple relay bypass on the single sided board.
I should have a few spare relays so I’ll give that a try as soon as I source a decent NTC thermistor for it.
I’ve decided to give WordPress a go. Mostly because I can’t be bothered coding in all of the functionality for social media and other nasty stuff WP has built in.
This will hopefully be home to a few interesting projects, the first one of which I already began. It’s called the “De-Cheapification”: a series of articles on how to take cheaply manufactured items and modify them to increase safety and reliability.
The first item in the series will be a 24V/15A SMPS and I’m pretty much 90% done with it. I’m trying to calculate if the NTC thermistor is the correct value for the supply and then I’ll give you a complete report with before/after pictures and as much data as I can gather.
Also currently coding in functionality to make those pages more accessible.
